The Ministry of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization in cooperation with the Piraeus Bank is implementing pilot programs of electronic cash payments in 23 KEP throughout Greece. Based on the conclusions derived from the application of the pilot program, the M.I.P.A.D. is planning to move to the next stage of installation of electronic cash payment equipment in the entire KEP network.
The specifications for the installation of this equipment were formulated following a nationwide survey conducted within the KEP, with a sample of 35,000 citizens.
During the pilot stage of the program, the Piraeus Bank is assuming the entire cost for its installation and development, without any costs bearing on the M.I.P.A.D. or the transacting citizens.
Also forecast within the electronic payment equipment is the installation of electronic surveying, which will take place after the end of the transaction and will allow the M.I.P.A.D. to record the opinion and suggestions of the citizens about the program
