Notes and Clarifications
Military service time is the time during which the Greeks being seventeen (17) years old, have served in the regular armed forces of an allied state in the capacity of serviceman. Those who after the recognition of their service have not entirely covered their military obligations towards the Greek Armed Forces, may buy out the remaining of their obligations following the prior recognition of three (3) at least months of service in the regular armed forces of an allied state. The submission of the evidence can be done in person or by proxy, or by registered letter to the competent Military Office. In the case of postal delivery, the effective date is that of mailing. If the documents are in a foreign internationally known language, they are accepted only if they are certified true and accompanied by an official translation. This means an official translation provided or ratified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or by Greek Consular Authority or by a lawyer (in accordance with the provisions of Article 53 of the Lawyers Code). Certified copies of these documents may also be accepted.
